Starting out as a small agency in 2011 on the Teesside University campus, Big Bite has grown to become the technology partner of choice for some of the world’s biggest brands.
From building the open-source Humanity theme for Amnesty International, to reshaping the digital publishing landscape with The Times, the talented Big Bite team has brought functionality to market and cemented Big Bite’s reputation as one of the most experienced WordPress agencies globally.

And from Internet.org, to helping shape and drive adoption of Gutenberg with a global bank, to building the open-source Humanity theme with Amnesty International, Big Bite has always focused on trying to make positive impacts to the open web. Now, it says, it’s ready to take the next step in the journey.
Big Bite’s leadership trio of co-founders Mark Goodyear and Iain McPherson and CTO Jason Agnew said ina statement: “For our clients, partners, and the wider WordPress community, nothing changes right now. We’ll keep doing what we do best, and the team you know will continue delivering all current projects with the care and quality you expect.
As we transition into WP Engine, we’ll gradually shift from client services to product development. We won’t be taking on new projects, but we’ll be putting our experience to work on tools and solutions that can benefit teams and organisations on a much larger scale.
We want to extend our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to everyone who has been a part of our journey, from the local digital community who supported us to the wonderful WordPress friends and colleagues we’ve met online, at WordCamps, and through so many other shared experiences. There will certainly be more to come.
We’d like to take this opportunity to give huge thanks to our clients, colleagues and partners who have supported us throughout the years, our success simply wouldn’t be possible without you.
The trio add that if any clients or would-be clients have any questions about the acquisition, they shouldfeel free to reach out to one of the team who will be happy to answer any queries you may have about the switch at [email protected]
