Workerbee goes ringside with The Eubanks in new BBC Three documentary

Manchester and Leeds-based production company Workerbee has landed a knockout new commission for BBC Three and iPlayer, going behind the scenes of one of British boxing’s most famous and fiery father-son duos.

The Eubanks: Like Father, Like Son is a new reality documentary that goes beyond the boxing ring to discuss legacies, masculinity, grief, as well as charting the turbulent relationship between Chris Eubank Snr and Chris Eubank Jnr.

The one-hour special features intimate interviews and exclusive access to the aftermath of Chris Eubank Snr’s headline-grabbing fight against Connor Benn, a match that reignited the decades-old rivalry between their fathers Chris Eubank Snr and Nigel Benn.

The documentary explores how Eubank Jnr naviated personal tragedy, a troubled adolescence, how he dealt with public pressure, as well as how he stepped into the role of father figure for his late brother’s son.

It also captures the poignant moment of reconciliation between father and son after years of estrangement.

The show was commissioned by Nasfim Haque, Head of Content for BBC Three; Catherine Catton, Head of Factual Entertainment and Events Commissioning; and Cal Turner, Commissioning Editor for Factual Entertainment.

Produced by Workerbee, a Banijay UK company, the documentary is executive produced by Ben Mitchell and Rick Murray and will be distributed internationally by Banijay Rights.

The Eubanks: Like Father, Like Son will stream on BBC iPlayer from 6am on Tuesday 11 November, airing later that day on BBC Three at 9pm, and on BBC One at 10:40pm on Wednesday 12 November.
