Newcastle AI data marketing firm lands share of £33m new government creative funding

Newcastle data-for-marketers AI firm PolyBox has been confirmed as a recipient of a share of £33m of new government funding designed to boost innovation and investment in creative industries such as film, music, and marketing.

PolyBox was founded by Newcastle University graduates Rojin Yarahmadi and Nikolaos Benopoulos. The company operates at the intersection of artificial intelligence, marketing analytics, and automation, building tools that simplify how marketers and agencies connect, analyse, and act on their data.

PolyBox’s platform enables marketing teams to unify data from over 700 sources, including Google, Meta, and CRM systems, into a single, automated environment. The platform not only consolidates data but also uses AI to generate instant insights and reports, allowing agencies to shift focus from manual reporting to strategic growth. This automation delivers substantial time and cost savings, helping marketing teams unlock efficiency and creativity at scale.

The newly secured Create Growth Programme funding will support PolyBox’s next phase of innovation: expanding its AI-driven data analysis engine to interpret larger, more complex datasets and deliver deeper strategic insights. The project focuses on advancing how AI can support marketing decision-making, giving agencies and in-house teams tools to analyse performance, benchmark results, and act on opportunities faster than ever before.

This achievement comes as part of a wider national initiative to grow the UK’s creative economy. Under the Government’s Plan for Change, six regions, including Greater Manchester, Liverpool City Region, the North East, West of England, West Midlands, and West Yorkshire, are each receiving £25 million through the Creative Places Growth Fund. Alongside this, more than 100 creative businesses across twelve regions are receiving a share of £8 million in grants through the Create Growth Programme, helping high-growth creative companies scale, attract private investment, and commercialise new ideas – support from Innovate UK and DCMS will enable the company to continue pioneering intelligent marketing solutions that empower agencies and marketers to do more with their data.

Rojin Yarahmadi, CEO and co-founder of PolyBox, said: “Even in a highly technical world, connecting data and making sense of it remains one of marketing’s hardest challenges. With this project, we’re expanding how AI can help agencies and marketers focus on what really matters: Creativity, strategy, and innovation, rather than manual reporting.”

Nikolaos Benopoulos, CMO and co-founder of PolyBox, added: “AI gives us the power to reimagine what’s possible in marketing. This grant allows us to take a bold step forward in developing tools that not only save time but also elevate how marketers think about data and strategy. We’re incredibly proud to represent the North East in this national programme.”
