No Sleep Till Brooklyn – former BuzzFeed host and producer heads up US expansion for Manchester production house

Swinton, Manchester-based video production and animation house What Media has announced the opening of its first US office in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

The move “follows rapid growth in demand for What Media’s video content services” and its proprietary ABC video technology across the United States – a first New York agency has already signed up as a client, highlighting strong early momentum.

What Media’s ABC Video Technology platform delivers hyper-personalised video and text messages at scale via WhatsApp, iMessage, SMS, RCS, and email, directly to clients’ device, helping brands to drive engagement, increase conversions, and build brand loyalty.

ABC also allows real-time personalization through instantly generated and delivered, tailored video responses with Render on Demand and extensive campaign management which allows senders to monitor, manage, and engage in real time through the ABC Dashboard.

With ABC technology already deployed across every global time zone, the US launch was a natural next step. A recent campaign for a FT100 company delivered tens of thousands of personalised video messages across 23 time zones, demonstrating the platform’s potential scale and impact.

The Brooklyn hub, located in one of New York’s most creative districts, offers access to world-class talent and proximity to many leading global brands, while the company’s first US hire, Chris Jereza, is a former BuzzFeed producer, host, and viral video creator with over 1.2M followers and 500M views in 2025, and brings exceptional expertise to the team.

Chris Bromage, chairman of What Media, said: “Opening in Brooklyn is both a bold step forward and a natural evolution for What Media. The US is the world’s most influential market, and with our proprietary ABC technology already connecting brands with audiences globally, we’re perfectly positioned to scale.

“While we remain fiercely proud of our Northern English roots, this expansion reflects our commitment to supporting clients wherever they are and delivering world-class video solutions on a global stage.”

TikTok partner What Media’s client list stretches from well-known local names such as Marketing Manchester to global giants including Pepsi, Coca Cola and Uber.
