When I asked my four-year-old to describe the CBeebies House Party Live at AO Arena, Manchester this week, he summed it up perfectly in three words; exciting, loud and bubbly.
A parallel you may say for the people of the North!
With 78% of organisers identifying in-person events as their organisation’s most impactful marketing channel, it is no wonder that the BBC schedules these events during the school summer holidays and we are glad to see their investment is placed in the North West.
It’s a great example of how large TV brands (and budgets) are supporting the North’s creative and events industry. Just this week we announced that Warner Bros has completed Manchester’s biggest commercial real estate deal too.
By taking a trusted on-screen brand and bringing it to local venues, the BBC not only entertains families but also creates work for regional producers, performers, set designers, and marketers.
A recent report from advertising think tank Credos reveals that 60% of UK advertising and marketing jobs are now based outside the capital and it is events like this that should support it increasing even more.
At the CBeebies House Party Live event, it appears to be high budget and mostly geared towards children aged two to six (as you may expect). The show has clearly been designed with interaction in mind, to keep young kids engaged and it works; large balloons, bubble machines, many, many streamers, dance moves and lots more.
The AO Arena had floor seating but there was no issue with the kids running around and dancing near the front of the stage – always a plus when you do not need to worry about wriggling!
The CBeebies House Party Live continues its tour to Blackpool and Salford in August and if you have young children that know the presenters / Mr Tumble – then they will have a blast!
Here are the next Northern dates:
The Blackpool Tower Ballroom – (Thursday 14 – Saturday 16 August) with Justin Fletcher, Nigel Clarke, Joanna Adeyinka-Burford, George Webster, and Duggee.
The Lowry Theatre, Salford – (Thursday 28 – Sunday 31 August) with Justin Fletcher, Rhys Stephenson, Evie Pickerill, Mister Maker and Duggee.
