Yorkshire company launches AI-assisted 3D print platform

Makr3D has launched a new 3D print fulfilment platform for creators, ecommerce sellers and brands.

Currently in beta, it’s based at Yorkshire3D’s production capacity in Huddersfield, which means that products can be printed, checked, packed and shipped worldwide.

It also has an in-built AI-assisted Print Intelligence pre-production inspector to support users before the order reaches the print queue. This measures uploaded models, reviews geometry and overhands, renders inspection views and heaps and recommends print settings or production notes.

“Lots of creators and sellers can design or market brilliant 3D-printed products, but the fulfilment side can quickly become the bottleneck,” said owner and founder Jayson Espley.

“Makr3D is our way of turning the production capacity we have built at Yorkshire3D Limited into a service that helps more people sell physical 3D-printed products without running the production themselves.”

The service is aimed at creators, Etsy and Shopify sellers, dropsellers and small brands in the UK, Europe and globally that want to test or scale 3D-printed products without taking on additional printers, packing work or fulfilment admin.

The platform supports two core models. The first is private seller fulfilment, where sellers keep their own store and customer relationship while Makr3D prints, packs and ships orders under the seller’s brand. The second is a creator catalogue/licensing model, where creators can optionally make selected designs available for approved sellers to offer while earning a per-unit royalty.

“Makr3D is about giving creators and ecommerce sellers a serious production route without forcing them to become manufacturers,” Espley added.

“We are starting from one real UK hub in Huddersfield, with the printers, process and fulfilment experience already in place, and building a platform that combines AI-assisted Print Intelligence with human production review, protects creator files, and helps sellers turn repeatable designs into shipped products for customers in the UK, Europe and worldwide.”
