Digital marketing services company Webcertain has expanded its presence in York.

The 15-year-old company, which works exclusively with international clients, has leased a further 6,000 sq ft space at Northminster Business Park to accommodate its expanding customer services team.

CEO Andy Atkins-Kruger, who took over the company in 2001 having worked with its predecessor Eagle Eye as a client, said it would be looking to recruit between 20 and 25 people over the course of 2016.

Atkins-Kruger wouldn’t disclose how many people currently worked for the company in total, but said its present home could ultimately accommodate around 65 people.

Webcertain delivers global online marketing services to global brands in the US, Europe and Asia, and also has teams in Barcelona and Beijing with further small bases in several other European cities.

Clients include Xerox, Survey Monkey and Russian search engine Yandex, and its services includes content marketing, search engine optimisation, social media and pay per click as well as translation, training and website development and management.

Atkins-Kruger said: “We look for quality of life for our staff and both York and Barcelona offer that in droves – it makes a big difference when you’re recruiting staff from all over the world, speaking many different languages, to be able to offer them that. Our locations are also chosen to help keep our services competitive – don’t expect a Webcertain office in the centre of a major capital any time soon.”

“We originally selected Northminster Business Park for its quality environment, great high-tech buildings and easy access for staff from York, Harrogate and Leeds and that remains true today.”

He added that his focus for the year was “maintaining a steady direction of growth”.
