Emily Atack, Matthew Horne, Kym Marsh and Gabrielle star in Debenhams’ new Christmas campaign.
The full 4 minute advert has debuted on YouTube, with wider roll-out planned across social media, print and out of home.
“Christmas. For Everyone” is described as a nostalgic creative, based around “community, connection and unexpected romance.”
“Nostalgia has always been part of Debenhams’ story, and as a retailer with such a rich British heritage, we understand the role that familiar moments and celebrations play in bringing people together,” explained Dan Finley, CEO.
“We’re seeing more customers thinking about and planning for Christmas earlier this year, looking to spread the cost of the festive season rather than leaving everything until December.
“That’s why we’re kicking off our Christmas campaign earlier than ever.”

The advert is based around Atack’s Tina, who returns to her childhood home for Christmas and unexpectedly reconnects with an old school friend, played by Horne. In traditional made-for-tv-movie plots, there are threats of cancelled celebrations, obviously some snow, community getting together, a bit of romance. Plus Gabrielle singing Dreams.
Influencers Saffron Barker, Sammi Maria and Jay Beech also feature.
The campaign was created by an in-house team, with production carried out by Pulse Films. The director was Tom Day, who’s worked on ads for Adidas, TNT Sports and Under Armour.
Media planning and buying is being done by SMB Agency. PR is by Brazen.
