Virtual home decor firm appoints new head of research

Digital Bridge, the company that allows users to virtually see decor in their own homes, has appointed Ilaria Gori as its new head of research.

Gori (right) will lead the computer vision and machine learning research team to drive new technology innovations for the business. She was previously lead data scientist at Innovative Technology, a provider of cash handling technology.

Manchester-based DigitalBridge uses augmented reality, computer vision and machine learning to allow customers to try home décor products in their own kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms.

Gori, who has a PhD in computer vision and robotics from the Italian Institute of Technology, said: “I’ve always loved working with innovative companies who bring solutions to the market that nobody else has thought of. I can’t wait to contribute to the ongoing success of DigitalBridge and help to push the boundaries of what we can make this exciting technology do.”

David Levine, CEO of DigitalBridge, added: “We’re delighted to have Ilaria on board to help shape our investment strategies and ensure we deliver innovative, market leading solutions to our customers. She has a wealth of experience and impressive expertise to bring to the company, so will be a great asset to our research division.”
