Arbuthnot Latham, the national private and commercial bank with its Northern HQ in Manchester, has hired Greg Ripley-Kinchin as a senior private banker, and Jack Akister as a private banker to join its media team.
Over the last three years, the media team has more than doubled the number of clients it services, which is now in excess of 2,000, as it continues to attract excellent bankers with extensive experience in the space. The appointments bring the total number of bankers within the media team nationally to 15 and further strengthens Arbuthnot’s offering.
Ripley-Kinchin has worked in the sector for over 10 years, starting his career at NatWest where he worked as a senior personal banker. He then moved to RBS’s private banking division under Child & Co and Drummonds, before joining Coutts, where he focused on the Sports, Music, TV, and Film Industries. Within his new role, he will look after clients in the Creatives space.

At Arbuthnot, he will work with clients within the sports, creative and interactive sectors.
Within their new roles, the pair will focus on delivering tailored banking and wealth solutions to clients, furthering Arbuthnot’s commitment to relationship-focused banking.
They will collaborate with teams across the bank to ensure their clients receive the highest level of service and are matched with the individuals best suited to meet their specific needs.
Robert Stapledon, head of media banking, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome two additional bankers to our Media team, which continues to be an area of growing focus for the private bank. The sector is presenting an increasing number of opportunities, and we are actively searching for new areas where Arbuthnot can best position itself to sustain its strong growth trajectory. Greg and Jack each bring unique strengths and expertise to the team that will significantly enhance the service we are able to deliver to our clients.”
