Former Brookside star Simon O’Brien has been appointed cycling and walking commissioner for the Liverpool City Region.
O’Brien, also well known for presenting roles on BBC Two’s Rough Guide series and Channel 4’s Find It, Fix It, Flog It, will be helping to deliver Metro Mayor Steve Rotheram’s vision for an active travel revolution across Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, St Helens, Sefton and Wirral.
He marked his appointment with a cycle around the Liverpool and Wirral waterfronts with Rotheram and Liverpool City Region transport leader Cllr Liam Robinson.
