True North has been commissioned to produce a new format for MTV featuring reality TV star Lateysha Grace.
Million Dollar Baby will follow Grace, who starred in True North’s The Valleys and later Big Brother, as she sets out on a mission to earn her two-year-old daughter, Wynter Grace Charles, £1 million by the time she is five.
True North will produce the 8 x 60-minute series, which is set to air across MTV’s network of 62 international channels and digital platforms from May 2018. Grace has almost 1 million social media followers, a children’s clothing label and countless brand partnerships.
“At two years old, Wynter is already a star in our eyes and she makes a great double act with her mum Lateysha,” said Craig Orr, VP, Commissioning and Development, for MTV International.
“This series will give viewers a revealing insight into Lateysha’s life as a ‘momager’, striving to provide a better life for her child. We look forward to finding out if Wynter will become the first official Million Dollar Baby.”
The show has been co-commissioned for MTV International and MTV UK by Orr and Kerry Taylor, EVP, Youth and Music, Viacom International Media Networks, MTV UKNEE and is Executive Produced by True North’s Head of Factual Entertainment and Reality, Fiona O’Sullivan.
Million Dollar Baby will air on Wednesday 9th May at 8pm.
