True North Advisors is expanding its full-service offering, with the appointment of 4 senior staff.
The company, based in Aberdeen and Edinburgh, has hired Ryan Crighton to launch its marketing division.
Crighton joins next month from Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce where he’s currently Policy and Marketing Director. Prior to that he was Director of Marketing at Aberdein Considine and Vice Chair of Aberdeen Inspired. Earlier in his career he was Press and Journal Business Editor at DC Thomson.
Crighton, who will take an ownership stake in the business, will be working alongside Senior Marketing and Events Advisor Cody Mowbray and Senior Creative Advisor Andrew Taylor – who are also currently at Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce.
“Together, we hope to build one of the most successful advisory businesses in Scotland – an economic force for good – and to do so we will be launching a new division to deliver creative, digital, marketing and events services to True North’s expanding client base,” explained Crighton.
“We are delighted to be taking Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce with us as a client, which means I will still be involved in all of the amazing work the Chamber does on behalf of its members. So you’ll still be seeing and hearing plenty from me as we fight for a fair deal for Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.
The fourth new recruit is Allister Thomas, who moves from Energy Voice, where he was Europe Editor. Thomas will lead on communications, business engagement and public affairs activity for energy sector clients.”
“It’s an exciting time to be coming aboard and I’ve already seen this great team in action, supporting firms navigating the transition and getting their stories told,” said Thomas.
“A huge thank you and a very fond farewell to everyone at Energy Voice and all those who have supported me over the years. From the issues we’ve covered – downturns, upturns, ScotWind, windfall taxes, HSE and Decom among a plethora of others – it’s clear there continues to be a really important place for this journalism-first publication and I’m proud to have contributed to it.”
