“The best move we’ve ever made” – former Candidsky seniors’ new indie logs “six-figure” ARR in opening month

Search Theory, a brand-new agency launched in April 2026, has hit six figures in Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR), just one month into its official operations.

The milestone marks a huge achievement for the small team and marks a solid entry into the industry, with the agency now engaged by clients from a diverse range of industries and sectors.

Founded by industry veterans and former senior Candidsky staffers David Vernon and Sara Kavanagh, the independent agency was launched to contend with the rise of AI, particularly in helping brands struggling to secure visibility in increasingly competitive online spaces.

Concerned that agency models are becoming templated and lacking the 1-2-1 connection that businesses are looking for in their marketing teams, the pair are committed to building high-value recurring partnerships rather than short-term boiler-plated projects.

The agency attributes the significant success rate to a number of successful wins early in their initial round of competitive pitches across SEO, Email, Paid Media and Digital PR services. The momentum has led to multiple new business wins spanning a range of sectors including boutique brands and larger enterprise-level retainers across a range of industries and sectors.

Co-founder Vernon said: “We have been absolutely blown away by the response that the agency has had in our first month of operation. When we first set out to build the business we knew there was a gap in the market for a more personal and experiential agency offering. But after our first month I can safely say that it was the best move we’ve ever made.

“From our initial conversations, it’s clear that many brands are struggling to remain visible online in a rapidly changing online world, and many are frustrated with surface-level strategies that push AI-content without really understanding what will achieve real results.

Following this strong first-month launch period, the agency now plans to continue to expand its client base while building its team and service offering. Hiring processes are also underway and additional appointments are expected to be announced within the next few months.
