Telltale Games director to head up Sumo Digital’s marketing


Richard Iggo has been named marketing director of Sheffield’s Sumo Digital.

It marks a return to the UK for Iggo, who’s spent the last 17 years in senior marketing roles in North America.

Originally a product marketing executive at Sheffield’s Gremlin Interactive, he joined Atari in Santa Monica as brand manager in 2001. Since then he’s been at High Moon Studios, NCSOFT, SouthPeak Interactive and most recently had a 7 year spell as senior director of marketing at Telltale Games.

“I’m thrilled to return to the UK games industry and to Sheffield to help lead Sumo’s ambitious plans. I look forward to building on the foundations of the creativity, innovation and versatility that Sumo is known for throughout the industry,” he said.

His role at Sumo will be to lead and implement its marketing strategy across its UK and India studios.

“It’s been a milestone year for Sumo – reaching our 15th anniversary and adding two new studios – and with plans to continue growing, we’re delighted to have Richard and his expertise on board,” added Paul Porter, co-founder and managing director of Sumo Digital.
