TelcoQ Ltd, which owns the TelcoQ, Rotten WiFi and WiFi Rank online testing and ranking brands, has set up its UK and headquarters at MediaCityUK on Salford Quays.
The company – which began life as a telecoms start-up in Lithuania – wants to grow its domestic and international presence from its new UK base in The Landing.
Arturas Jonkus, Co-founder of TelcoQ Ltd, said: “MediaCityUK is a very lively and growing technology hub. We find the development very attractive in terms of cost, infrastructure and support from municipal agencies, such as MIDAS. It is the ideal place to locate our business.”
Rotten WiFi is a crowdsourcing platform which allows users to assess the quality of WiFi connections. It can be used to test and evaluate signal quality, allowing users to share knowledge of the best and worst public WiFi spots.
WiFi Rank is an online rating platform, which allows users to check the quality of WiFi connections at hotels around the world. The service is set to be rolled out across the hospitality sector to include restaurants and cafes in the future.
TelcoQ is a B2B solution, allowing mobile telecoms operators to monitor the quality of their 3G and 4G coverage online.
