Stockport Council has partnered with APS Group’s MMP to launch a communications campaign to promote its online services.
“Online and ready when you are” will be delivered via print and digital – including targeted Facebook advertising, web banner ads, site takeovers, and direct mail.
“Our local residents and businesses are expecting more from our services. We have built a completely new website where they can report, apply and pay for things and find out information on a wide range of services quickly and easily,” explained Councillor David Sedgwick, executive member for reform and governance at Stockport Council.
“We have also launched a new ‘My Account’ offering access to personalised information on Council Services and we have created new digital features for reporting and tracking the repair of common faults, such as street lights that aren’t working. This enhanced digital offer has immediate benefits for Stockport residents and businesses and will also enable us to make future savings by delivering public services in new and more efficient ways.”
Manchester-based MMP worked with the council on strategic insight and planning as well as the marketing campaign.
‘‘It was important to identify how, when and why different groups of people might interact with their Council,’’ said Julian Gratton, group creative director at MMP.
‘‘From those who might not be digitally confident, or have a limited awareness about the service, to new homeowners looking for information, the campaign has been very much focused on communicating to groups that going online is an easier way to contact your Council.’’
