Social Communications has appointed Diana MacCarthy as the new Director of its Manchester office to accelerate growth in the North West.

MacCarthy has been Director at Intelligent Conversation for the last six years. Five-year-old Social Communications has a client roster covering both public and private sectors, drawn from housing, property, construction, education, rail, planning and major infrastructure.

It employs 33 staff in its Manchester, Leeds and Bristol offices and ranked number 11 in Prolific North’s top 50 PR agencies 2018.

MacCarthy  will help deliver on the group’s ambitious vision for its next growth phase and lead a team specialising in public relations and public affairs from its Northern Quarter HQ.

She said: “With a £2m turnover, Social Communications has a compelling growth story, a culture to be proud of and an enviable client roster. I was drawn to being part of its next chapter, its ethos and to delivering on sector diversification.”

Founder and MD John Quinton-Barber added: “With C-suite counsel, award-winning campaigns and reputation management amongst her creds, Diana will be in the driving seat of Social’s ambitions for the region, accelerating growth and expanding sector specialisms. It’s great to have her on board.”
