Whisper North has revealed more details about the new series of Pictionary, which it’s making for ITV.
The MediaCity-based indie is producing two Christmas specials in December, hosted by Mel Giedroyc. These will be followed by a full series in January.
The Christmas team captains will be Denise Van Outen vs Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen and Jeff Brazier vs Scarlett Moffat.
Taking on the role of team captains throughout the series run are Angela Scanlon, Brian Conley, Dan Whiston, Eddie Kadi, Hayley Tamaddon and Jeanette Kwakye.
“I’m so delighted to be kicking off the festive season by bringing a family favourite to ITV with the incredible celebrity team captains,” said Mel Giedroyc.
“Filming the series was a barrel of laughs throughout, even more so when things got competitive. I really hope viewers laugh and play along – we had so much fun making the series!”
Despite being based in MediaCity, Whisper North has filmed the show at Enfys Studios in Cardiff. It’s been produced with the support of the Welsh Government via Creative Wales.
The first series of Pictionary follows a successful U.S. run hosted by Jerry O’Connell. The U.S. series is produced by Fox First Run, executive produced by David A. Hurwitz and Noah Bonnett, distributed in the U.S. by CBS Media Ventures and internationally by Paramount Global Content Distribution along with the format rights.
