Specialist stationery firm, Duraweld has bought Prima Yorkshire for an undisclosed sum.

Bradford-based Prima started out 22 years ago and produces packaging for brands including Coca-Cola, Harrods, Nespresso and Superdrug.

The acquisition came about because owners Andrew Birkinshaw and Richard Cragg have decided to retire.

“As a market leader in customised stationery and packaging, Prima further extends our range of products, enabling us to continue to expand the business,” explained Mark Yeung, Managing Director of Duraweld.

“In such a competitive sector, it’s vital to keep looking to the future and planning for growth – the acquisition of Prima will make a significant contribution to our business, adding to our skilled team and building on the solid foundations we have established.”

Birkinshaw and Cragg will support the transition to Duraweld before their retirement, while fellow manager, Jon Simms, will continue to work with the company.

Duraweld was established in 1959 and works with brands including NHS and the FA.
