CBBC’s newest presenter is Lauren Layfield, a former TV researcher, journalist and newsreader from Sale.
Lauren will work alongside CBBC favourites Hacker T. Dog and Dodge T.Dog and presenters Karim Zeroual and Shannon Flynn, a Rochdale-born former actress.
CBBC is produced and broadcast from The Studios at MediaCityUK in Salford and employs staff across the brand’s TV and digital platforms in Bridge House, which is opposite the studios.
Layfield said the move was ‘literally my dream come true’. “I have never done live TV before,” she said. “As a newsreader and journalist I’ve done serious things like interview the Prime Minister. But now I’ll be dressed up in silly costumes working with little dogs.”
