A year after retiring as CEO of Stein IAS, Rob Morrice is back in the agency game.
He has been hired by Lesniak Swann as its new chairman – with a brief to “help drive the agency’s ambitious expansion plans.”
It’s a challenge that Morrice has taken on a couple of times before, taking Smarts from a start-up to £4m turnover and his 18 years at Stein ended with it reporting revenues of £15m a year.
“Rob is a legendary name in B2B marketing circles and has an extremely impressive track record developing agencies on a global scale – most recently with Stein IAS,” said Alexander Swann, Managing Director of Lesniak Swann.
“The past few years have been a great success for us with a range of important new client wins and delivering continued commercial impact for our established clients. We’re delighted Rob has agreed to join us and help to guide our next phase of growth, especially as he has such a wealth of knowledge in working in our client’s sectors such as construction and engineering.
“He’s already brought his signature ice machine with him so feels right at home.”
The Stoke-based agency’s client list includes Michelin, Polypipe, Norgren IMI, Etex Group and Caterpillar dealer Finning UK and Ireland.
“Demand for good quality B2B marketing agencies continues to increase – and Lesniak Swann are ideally placed to grow in tandem with this trend. In fact we expect growth of the business to be quite rapid with a trebling in size planned for the next few years,” said Morrice.
“I’ve been really impressed by the ambitious and talented people we have right through the Lesniak Swann team, in part as it reminds me of when I started at Stein IAS. Back then there was a similarly high level of talent and drive that proved to be a magic combination.
“I’m also really excited by the team’s passion for producing excellent creative work and the strong commercial results this has brought for clients.”
