Tributes to long-standing Yorkshire Evening Post Chief Sub-Editor

Paul Woodhouse has died after a career of over 25 years at the Yorkshire Evening Post. He was aged 61.

He began his career in journalism at the Widnes Weekly News, moving to the the Telegraph & Argus in Bradford. He worked at Yorkshire Post Newspapers between 1988 and 2014, rising through the ranks to chief sub-editor in 2013.

Woodhouse was given a long service award for his contribution to YEP, and later moved over to the Press Association, working across copy for the Daily Mirror. He was based there until his death.

“Colleagues have paid tribute to his integrity and intelligence,” his wife Geraldine told the Yorkshire Evening Post.

“The abiding memory we all have of him is his quick wit and sense of humour.”

He leaves a wife and three daughters.
