Manchester-based public sector IT specialist Kingsfield has been awarded a place on the Procurement Services Software Products and Associated Services framework, valued at £800m.

Procurement Services currently has six Department for Education (DfE) approved frameworks, with this framework covering the provision of a full range of software and maintenance solutions for the public sector.

Alongside supporting across education, all public sector bodies will have access to this framework, including the Police Service, the Fire Service, NHS Trusts and third sector organisations.

Kieran Shah, head of public sector at Kingsfield IT, said: “Securing a place on this high-value framework is a testament to our team’s remarkable work, solidifying Kingsfield as a pioneer in the public sector tech space.”

Instead of inviting multiple suppliers to submit proposals or bids, Procurement Services frameworks provide two routes to market: further competition and direct award. The further competition option allows the customer to test the market to find the right solution at the best price, and the direct award option allows the purchaser to directly select an awarded supplier listed within the framework. Both procurement options are fully compliant in line with the Public Contracts Regulations 2015.

Shah added: “Removing the need for a full tender exercise and competing businesses from outside the framework, Procurement Services promises to streamline procurement, saving time and costs for the education sector and other public sector bodies in need of IT support as soon as possible.”

Tarryn Kerr, director of procurement services, added “We are delighted to renew our Software Products and Associated Services framework, which has been created to help support public sector organisations across the UK.

“Our framework experts have undertaken a stringent tender process to award to the successful suppliers and we are pleased that Kingsfield IT is one of our new partners. We look forward to creating a long-lasting relationship with Kingsfield IT and working collaboratively to support the needs of the UK public sector.”

The framework win comes following a record 12 months of success for the Manchester tech team, following three huge framework wins worth over £13bn in value, as well as six new appointments to the team.
