PR agencies sought for £2.5 million licence fee contract

The BBC is looking for up to 6 PR agencies to handle its TV Licensing communications across press, stakeholder and social media.

The contract worth a total of £2.5m will be awarded to agencies in the nations and regions.

In the tender the BBC says, it’s seeking firms that: “understand the issues facing TV Licensing and can demonstrate best practise in communicating with audiences efficiently and effectively in a changing media and economic climate.

“Agencies will be required to achieve set objectives efficiently and add value to TV Licensing by contributing to strategic and tactical thinking.”

It explained that the regional agencies would be the “face” of TV Licensing in their geographical area.

The brief has been split into half a dozen regions, with a single agency required per area, although agencies will be able to apply for more than one.

The contract, which starts on 1st April 2019, is for 3 years, with 2 possible further extension periods of up to 12 months each.

The Northern contract is currently held by Leeds’ Finn Communications.
