Manchester’s Playmaker Studio has released a short film highlighting its talents after what founder and director Neil Boote describes as a period of “running under the radar”.

The Trafford Park operation is run out of its own 10,000sq ft studio facility and features a team of in-house creatives and crew that can cover all aspects of film and photography production.

Offering a cost-effective route to executing ambitious ideas the studio has built relationships with agencies like TBWA/MCR, LOVE, Dinosaur Agency and The Social Chain Agency to create content for the likes of Häagen-Dazs, Bupa, Laithwaites, and Volvic.

Playmaker’s new short

Boote says: “The aim was to bring together a small but incredibly talented team under one roof with the space and facilities to finely craft ambitious ideas in a cost-effective way. The knitting together of abilities in art direction, production design, film, photography and post production means we’re a one-stop-shop creative solution. With the addition of our studio space that’s full of resources, such as pre-built room sets, it means that we can squeeze the most out of every budget.”

Turning to the newly released short, Playmaker DOP Laurence Arnold said: “Although the whole thing is obviously just a bit of fun, the bringing together of some rather unique production design, practical effects and post production really highlights our team’s breadth of skills and passion for creating amazing visual executions.”
