The third series of Paul Abbott’s black comedy, No Offence, has begun filming in Manchester.
The 6 new episodes will take on a more political tone:
“Series 3 is about the void left by political parties, clusters of ignorance streamlined in to soldier ants. Whether it’s a real or perceived void doesn’t matter. Predators will always exploit a weakness. Viv Deering (Joanna Scanlan) really earns her wages in making her voice heard to diverse cultural factions,” explained Abbott.
Joining the team is Bafta-nominated claire Rushbrook (My Mad Fat Diary), who takes on the role of Superintendent Marilyn Merchant.
With mayoral hustings, race riots and an arson attack on a mosque, there will be “devastating consequences.”
The series is written and created by Abbott and produced by AbbottVision. The executive producers are Abbott, Martin Carr and Paul Coe for AbbottVision; with Philip Leach as producer.
Directing episodes 1 and 3 is Catherine Morshead (No Offence, Fungus The Bogeyman), with Rob Quinn (DCI Banks, Jekyll And Hyde) directing episodes 2 and 4.
It will be filming in Manchester until the end of March 2018.
