Data specialist Kani assists with fintech’s expansion

Newcastle data reconciliation provider Kani Payments has entered a partnership with fintech Osper to support it on the journey from start-up to a full-scale fintech.

Osper was established in 2013 as a prepaid card helping children to learn about financial management, and offering cards featuring Nickelodeon favourites like Spongebob Squarepants.

It is now scaling up to serve the wider B2B fintech industry. By working with Kani’s data reporting and reconciliation capabilities and its award-winning SaaS platform, Osper can streamline and standardise the increasingly broad array of data sets it is required to manage.

Kani Payments, founded in 2018, is a reconciliation and reporting platform specifically designed to reduce complexity for financial services businesses. 

It was named Europe’s Leading Financial Services or Payments Start-up by the Emerging Payments Association in 2019, and clients include fintechs, challenger banks, established banks, electronic money issuers, and gift card providers.  

Ester Piubeni, Operations Director at Osper, said: “What we love about the Kani platform is its ability to pull in data from different sources and reconcile it in a few minutes, whereas before reconciliations would take several hours. The system we were using before required users to know SQL and coding to interpret the data. I needed IT engineers to merge different data sets to make it understandable. Now, we don’t have to bother the engineers because we can get the information ourselves.”
