Newcastle agency Enigma Interactive has given iconic toy brand Sylvanian Families a helping hand in extending its reach through TikTok Shop.
The famous eighties fluffy friends brand, owned by EPOCH Making Toys, took the leap to TikTok as part of the next phase of its digital journey, launching its products on TikTok to boost ecommerce sales and “deepen connections with its customers.”
Sylvanian Families has held iconic toy status since its UK launch in the 1980s. Originating in Japan, the collectible range of distinctive animal figurines is now sold in more than 50 countries worldwide, with over 100 million Sylvanian Families figures sold globally.
Known for promoting themes including nature, family and love, the small, fuzzy characters remain popular with collectors and children alike.

Enigma has worked with EPOCH Making Toys as a digital partner for several years, supporting the brand’s online growth in the UK. During this time it’s adopted and relaunched the Sylvanian Families UK ecommerce website, providing strategic digital consultancy to strengthen ecommerce performance and support sales growth.
This work laid the foundations for further innovation as the brand continued to evolve its digital presence and reach new audiences.
Building on the partnership, EPOCH approached Enigma to support the next step in its ecommerce
strategy – enabling Sylvanian Families products to be sold directly through TikTok.
To support the launch, Enigma integrated TikTok Seller Center with EPOCH’s existing Magento ecommerce platform.
This integration allows customers to place orders directly within the TikTok app, while the order is automatically transferred to the Magento store. From there, the order can be processed and shipped without requiring manual intervention from the EPOCH team. Stock and product listings are synchronised automatically, ensuring that inventory remains accurate across both platforms and when new products are added to the Sylvanian Families website, they now automatically appear within the Sylvanian Families TikTok Shop, creating a seamless connection between social commerce and the brand’s core ecommerce infrastructure.
The project required close collaboration between Enigma, TikTok and EPOCH, combining consultative services, custom development, and integration with third-party Magento extensions and also featured a quick checkout feature providing a smoother buying journey for customers.
