Reuben Jenkins, an award-winning recruiter and former director at tech recruitment specialists Forward Role and Salt, has launched Techmunity in Manchester.
The new venture promises to focus “not just on building teams, but building communities,” and will specialise in software engineering, web development, mobile development, data, cloud computing and cyber security, both full-time and interim.
Techmunity is also committed to social impact, and has pledged to donate five per cent of profits to CodeYourFuture, a non-profit which provides training and support to individuals from underrepresented backgrounds to help them join the tech industry.
CYF’s open-source programme has won UN secretary general-backed Digital Public Good registration, and was recently named a 2024 champion at the global World Summit for the Information Society.
Jenkins said: “After over a decade in IT recruitment, placing hundreds of technologists, I’m thrilled to announce the founding of Techmunity…In addition to scaling technology teams nationwide, Techmunity proudly partners with CodeYourFuture, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing quality training and support to individuals from underrepresented backgrounds across the UK. We are committed to fostering a more inclusive tech industry by investing 5% of our profits to support their mission.”
