Sarah Parish (Broadchurch, W1A) is currently in Bolton, filming a thriller for ITV Encore.
Bancroft is a 4-part series, with Parish taking the lead as respected police officer, DCI Elizabeth Bancroft – a woman with “dark secrets in her past.”
It is the first commission for ITVS’ drama company, Tall Story Pictures, which was founded by producers Francis Hopkinson and Catherine Oldfield.
Hopkinson will executive produce the series alongside series creator and writer Kate Brooke (Mr Selfridge, Ice Cream Girls, The Making of a Lady).
The director is John Hayes (Vera, Home Fires) Phil Collinson (Dr Who, Coronation Street) is the producer.
Starring alongside Parish are Faye Marsay (Game of Thrones, Black Mirror) and Linus Roache (Vikings, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit).
Filming takes place in and around Bolton and the North West, with the series distributed internationally by ITV Studios Global Entertainment
