Manchester’s creatives are getting a new place to make, build, sell, rehearse, eat, drink and grow, as Bromley Yard gets ready to open its doors in Victoria North on 14th October 2026.
The major new creative container village is now taking shape, with the first phase of the site nearing completion and more than 90 studios and business spaces set to welcome their first tenants.
Once fully developed, Bromley Yard will provide more than 250 affordable spaces for independent creatives and businesses, creating a new home for many of the people behind Manchester’s creative scene.
From artists and makers to musicians, designers, retailers and small independent businesses, the site has been designed to give creatives something that can be increasingly difficult to find in Manchester.
And it’s not just creatives who are being invited in. Bromley Yard is also looking for food and drink businesses to join the community, with a dedicated food court planned as part of the development.
From independent food traders and street food operators to coffee, drinks and other F&B concepts, the food court will add another reason for the public to come down, hang out and spend time at the Yard.
Developed by Meanwhile Creative (a Bristol-based real estate developer specialising in affordable units for creative businesses and entirely unrelated to Manchester creative agency Meanwhile), which currently supports more than 1,500 studios nationwide across sites in Bristol, its existing Pollard Yard site in Manchester, Cardiff and Norwich, Bromley Yard will feature a mix of 20ft and 40ft containers, Lock Up Studios, music spaces, workshops, retail opportunities, F&B spaces and flexible units for a wide range of creative and independent uses.
A spokesperson for Meanwhile Creative said: “Manchester has an incredible creative community, but finding somewhere affordable to make, work and grow can be a real challenge. Bromley Yard is about changing that. We’re getting closer to opening the doors now, and we’ve had an incredible response. It’s brilliant to see the site coming to life and we can’t wait to see what Manchester’s creatives do with it and, of course, what they eat and drink while they’re here.”
Bromley Yard opens on 14th October 2026.
