Flexible workspace operator BLOCK Workspace has secured space at a prominent city centre building in Manchester as it continues to scale its UK portfolio following a recent £6m investment.
The deal marks BLOCK’s first locations in the North West, while a second deal will also see it debut in the West Midlands with a Birmingham opening, increasing its footprint from four to six sites and forming part of a wider national rollout strategy.
In Manchester, BLOCK has signed at Sunlight House, a landmark building in the city centre which has recently undergone significant refurbishment works. The building will be repositioned to deliver BLOCK’s design-led, flexible workspace offering, with a target opening date of 14th August 2026.

The launch represents the business’s first move into the Manchester market, where demand for high-quality flexible space continues to grow.
The acquisitions represent a significant step in the growth of the business, which has expanded steadily from its South West base since launching in 2021. BLOCK currently operates in Plymouth, Exeter, Taunton and Bristol, delivering flexible workspace across regional markets. Key to BLOCK’s success has been offering a premium, design led workspace combined with a unique wellbeing offering including yoga studios, café and onsite fitness facilities.
The expansion follows a £6 million investment secured earlier this year, which has enabled BLOCK to target prime assets in key UK cities and strengthen its position within the sector.
Ben Cheriton, founder and CEO of BLOCK Workspace, said: “These signings mark an important point in the growth of the business and reflect our ambition to build a national platform. Manchester and Birmingham are both strong office markets with sustained demand for high-quality, flexible space. Securing buildings of this libre allows us to deliver our product in locations where we know it will resonate with occupiers. Following our recent investment, we are well positioned to continue expanding and to move quickly on further opportunities.”
The Manchester acquisition (plus Birmingham) forms part of a wider pipeline, as BLOCK continues to explore opportunities across the UK’s core regional office markets.
