Modern English has completed a website for a new exhibition taking place at Manchester Art Gallery as part of the Manchester International Festival

Do It 20 13 is an interactive exhibition, first conceived and curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist, Christian Boltanski and Betrtrand Lavier twenty years ago.

It’s described as “turning the notion of viewing into an active and performative encounter between artist and visitor.” Basically giving the viewer directions on how to “perform” the art.

Two decades on, this version includes instructions from artists who took part in the first “do it” experiment as well as subsequent generations who’ve been involved. Artists involved in the exhibition include Etel Adnan, Ai Weiwei, Yto Barrada, Theaster Gates, Casey Reas, Peter Saville, Ryan Trecartin, Sarah Lucas, Tracey Emin, Gilbert & George, Yoko Ono and Nancy Spero.

Manchester agency, Modern English, was appointed to design the microsite, which enables users to upload multiple files to share content across social media platforms.
