Mobile Tornado extends African partnership to 2026

Push to talk and instant mobile communications specialist Mobile Tornado has strengthened its partnership with Instacom, a leading provider of critical communications solutions to government agencies and private enterprises in Africa.

The agreement to extend their resell partnership until 2026 creates opportunities for Mobile Tornado to “cement its presence in the fast-growing continent and expand into new markets and territories.”

Instacom is based in Pretoria, South Africa and serves sectors such as security, healthcare, agriculture, construction, mining, transport and logistics. Blue chip customers include Anglo American, Bidvest, Unilever, Vodafone, Department of Health, G4S and Vodacom.

It is the market leader in South Africa and is rapidly growing across Africa with operations in 20 countries. Instacom is expected to announce a number of major deals over the next 12 months with several large private and public sector customers.

Instacom is a reseller of Mobile Tornado’s push-to-talk over cellular technologies for organisations that depend on fast, robust and reliable communications between individuals and large groups.

Under the extended resell partnership, Harrogate-based Mobile Tornado will act as exclusive UK reseller for Instacom’s PTX personnel management platform. The platform enables the simple and effective management of employees, helping to improve operational efficiencies and productivity as well as reducing costs.

Luke Wilkinson of Mobile Tornado said: “We have been working with Instacom since 2010 and are thrilled to be taking our relationship to the next level. We are looking forward to working more closely and sharing our mutual knowledge and expertise. We are already discussing a number of exciting ideas and can’t wait to start implementing them. The continued growth of mobile network coverage across Africa is creating big opportunities for government agencies and private enterprises to increase safety, reduce costs, boost productivity and improve efficiency among their remote workforces.”

Kobus Briel, chief executive officer of Instacom, added: “We have made it our mission to pioneer world-class critical communications and personnel management solutions. We are proud to be partnering with Mobile Tornado and its innovative technologies to help our customers achieve their ambitions.”

Mobile Tornado provides seamless switching between 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G mobile and WiFi networks and is available via the latest ruggedised handsets and smartphone application for Android and iOS operating systems. The low-cost technologies are deployed in more than 30 countries worldwide with mobile operators, government agencies and private enterprises.
