MediaCityUK agency redesigns Doncaster Sheffield Airport website


Digital agency, Drumbeat, has created the new consumer website for Doncaster Sheffield Airport.

The agency, based at MediaCityUK, undertook extensive market research before designing the site, which focuses on the speed of its load time and easy to access information.

“Doncaster Sheffield Airport is the UK’s number one airport for a reason and we wanted the online experience to better reflect this.  The new site is much faster and simpler for users to explore, but we’ve also worked hard to retain DSA’s family-friendly brand ethic,” explained Jon McQuillan, Director at Drumbeat.

“By re-building the website as a progressive web app, we have dramatically reduced load times, ensuring customers can find information on flights, destinations and parking quickly and easily – particularly on mobile devices”.

The site also features independent widgets, a promo carousel and a re-design of the commercial pages for parking options, the premium lounge and Duty Free offering have been introduced.

Phase 2 of the site will add functionality to receive flight updates via Facebook Messenger and Twitter and an interactive parking slider to help passengers quickly find the best parking options and prices. 

Drumbeat also manages Doncaster Sheffield Airport’s social media channels and works with the airport on branding and design.
