Maker Projects has created a 60-second film to help launch the new Manchester restaurant and bar El Gato Negro Tapas.
The much-anticipated new venue, which opened its doors last month, will use the film across its social media platforms, website and in PR.
Chef Patron, Simon Shaw, and his team briefed Maker to create a film that gives a taster of the breadth and quality of the Spanish cuisine on offer.
Maker’s response was an “immersive cinematic snapshot” that looks to put the viewer up close to the ingredients, preparation and service that make El Gato Nego a memorable experience.

Nick Marchant, Maker co-founder and creative director, said: “I enjoy watching an interview with a chef or a demo of a dish as much as anyone, but I feel like I’ve seen it a thousand times.
“What is special about a restaurant is the intimate sensory experience of it, the buzz of the atmosphere, the intensity of the flavours and the joy of sharing it with people. For El Gato Negro Tapas, we’ve succeeded in immersing the audience in the restaurant experience, in turn tempting them to visit to taste it for real.”
Marchant and his crew filmed a real night in the restaurant, capturing the smallest details of dishes by shooting CU, and amplifying the sounds of the preparation, cooking and ultimate enjoyment of the food by guests.
Phil Bennett, El Gato Negros Tapas general manager, added: “It was an absolute pleasure working with Maker, from the initial scoping meetings to final production there was an intimate understanding of what I was looking for as a brand. The execution of the final video exceeded my expectations and delivered beyond the initial creative ideas discussed.”
