Sky has revealed a raft of commissions for its new Sky Kids channel.

It includes BooSnoo! a special show produced by Cheshire studio, Mackinnon & Saunders.

It is described as a unique blend of calm and exploration, providing children with a chance to reset. It’s inspired by elements that engage children, including those with learning difficulties and those who may be on the autistic spectrum.

The Altrincham company developed the show with support from the National Autistic Society.

“”We are supportive of BooSnoo’s ambition to provide a calming yet engaging programme for children, including those on the autism spectrum. We are excited to see the programme and the reaction to the show this year,” said a spokesperson for the charity.

It will feature a red ball moving through fantastic landscapes and machines filled with music, art, space, water and more, intending to captivate interest from start to finish.

The 20×6 minute series is a Visionality and Mackinnon and Saunders production in association with APX Content Ventures. The Executive producer is Julian Bashford and Commissioning Editor at Sky Kids is Ian France.

Other commissions are Mittens and Pants, narrated by Marcus Bentley, My Friend Misty, with Daisy Haggard as voice of Misty, and Ready, Eddie, Go!, narrated by Jodie Whittaker

“We know our younger viewers and their families will love discovering our slate of brand-new shows, as well as enjoying more of their favourite characters,” said Lucy Murphy, Director of Kids Content at Sky.

“This is a brilliant line-up to start the year on our new channel and there are more exciting announcements still to come”.

Sky Kids TV launches on 13th February.
