Manchester-headquartered agency Absurd has been hired by online dungarees brand Lucy & Yak to help accelerate its eCommerce growth – following a successful first quarter of 2021.

Absurd recorded 113% in growth in Q1 of this year, and has launched a recruitment drive in response. As well as winning the Lucy & Yak account, it has also been appointed by Institut Francais, to help it transition to online learning on a more permanent basis.

With Lucy & Yak – the enormously popular brand for sustainably produced dungarees and boiler suits – Absurd is set to introduce new technologies for its next phase of expansion as technical partner.

Absurd, whose specialism lies in digital products and service design, already works with a selection of leading clients including Umbro, Brother and LV=. To manage its recent growth, it has hired a new front-end developer in Ben Hirst, and has four more vacancies across design and technology.

Oliver Bailey (pictured, right), Co-founder of Absurd, said: “Now is a critical time for many businesses to be ramping up their digital and design capabilities and all of our new business has come from ambitious, forward-thinking companies looking to grow or accelerate digital services that will better meet the needs of their audiences, be that business customers or consumers.

“With a specialism in service design as well as a breadth of experience in technology solutions we’re managing to compete against some large and established global agencies to partner with some fantastic organisations. Our growth is testament to the hard work of our team and results from our agility to adapt our services to best meet client’s requirements.”

With a 15-strong team, Absurd’s headquarters are in Manchester with another UK office in London, and a base in the USA.
