James Brown, the founder of iconic lads’ magazine Loaded, has been appointed editor in chief of FourFourTwo.
The monthly football magazine, which is published by Northampton-based Future, first launched in September 1994 and had a circulation of almost 45,000 in December 2018. Brown, who grew up in Leeds, tweeted he had “come out of magazine retirement” to take on the role.
He has had a long, varied and distinguished career in media, having also been editor in chief of British GQ, founder of Sabotage Times, a radio presenter on TalkSport and author of the book Above Head Height: A Five-A-Side Life.
