Residue, a 3-part series filmed in Yorkshire, has debuted on Netflix.
Set in London, but shot primarily in Leeds, through Screen Yorkshire’s Yorkshire Content Fund, it features Game of Thrones stars, Natalie Tena and Iwan Rhoen.
It was created by John Harrison and is set in the aftermath of a devastating explosion in the city and a government conspiracy that may be concealing the truth.
The original plan was to release it as a feature film and it did have a limited theatrical release last month, before its full premiere on Netflix. It will be distributed in the UK, US, Australia and New Zealand.
Locations for the drama included Canal Wharf, the University of Leeds, Little Germany in Bradford, The Hepworth Gallery in Wakefield and Harrogate International Centre.
The production team’s plan is to follow this pilot run with a full 10-episode second series.
