Mr Bates v The Post Office, Coronation Street and The 1% Club were some of ITV’s biggest hits of 2024.
In fact it was a strong showing for the North of England in ITV’s most watched shows.
Mr Bates vs The Post Office was 2024’s biggest drama – with Little Gem’s true story about Alan Bates, a postmaster from Conwy in North Wales.
Mr Bates vs the Post Office: The Real Story, the documentary follow-up, became the biggest commercial factual programme, with an audience of 5.1m.
I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! was the UK’s biggest entertainment show, with recent 7 day consolidated data revealing that the series averaged 9.1 million viewers across the run.
The biggest quiz show on TV in 2024 was The 1% Club, which was watched by a high of 6.3 million viewers and filmed at dock10.
Staying at dock10 studios, ITV also recorded the biggest current affairs audience on any channel, with 5.4m people watching Sunak v Starmer: The ITV Debate hosted by Julie Etchingham, the first election debate in June.
Just across the water, Coronation Street maintained its crown as the biggest soap on TV, with an average audience of 4.4m viewers across the year.

The biggest sports audience of 2024 was England’s win against the Netherlands in the Euros semi final, watched by a peak audience of 21.6 million viewers.
