Havas wins media planning and buying account for leading UK retailer


Matalan, the leading UK homeware and fashion retailer, has appointed Havas Media Group as its media planning and buying agency of record.

Following a competitive pitch, the Liverpool-headquartered retailer has selected Havas to partner with it on an omnichannel strategy, utilising its core proposition Havas Media along with ecommerce offering Havas Market, to support Matalan.

With the partnership beginning next month, Havas Media Group will develop cross-channel media experiences to build on the seller’s ‘Real Life Ready’ positioning, drive customer acquisition, and support its ecommerce growth.

The Manchester office of Havas Media, which is based in the city centre and currently also handles the BBC media account, will run the Matalan account.

The agency group has recently simplified its offering into three propositions – Havas Media, Havas Entertainment and Havas Market – and recently won high-profile sclients including Dolce & Gabbana, De Beers and UKTV.
