Happy Valley shortlisted for world’s best TV drama

BBC drama Happy Valley has been nominated as best drama series in the prestigious Rose d’Or Awards, which honour the best TV and radio shows around the world.

The police drama, starring Sarah Lancashire, is set in the Calder Valley in West Yorkshire and was made by Salford-based Red Production Company.

Post production was done by Dock 10 at MediaCity.

There were complaints about the sound in series two, which ended in March, but the drama drew audiences of more than eight million per episode.

The UK has taken the vast majority of nominations in this year’s Rose d’Or Awards, with shows nominated in all but one of the 11 categories.

In two categories, Sitcom and Drama Series, only UK shows were nominated.

The awards will be presented in Berlin on 13th September. Below is a full list of nominations:
