GO Outdoors stretches its wings with driven

driven has brought back “Billy” the parakeet for GO Outdoors’ new advertising campaign.

The television and digital video-led adverts feature Will Mellor as “Billy the Bird” who will swoop across epic landscapes “expressing liberation” and a love for GO Outdoors products. 

“The story has moved from last year where Billy broke free and flew straight to his local GO store,” said Graham Drury, Partner at driven.

“This time he’s expressing the same feeling of liberation, but in the outdoors itself. It’s the latest instalment of the Discover Freedom idea which has been wonderfully embraced by the GO Outdoors business”

The creative is set to the disco track “Mighty real” by Sylvester and was directed by Phil Hawkins through Velvet Film Productions. Animation was by Manchester’s Flipbook Studio and line production by Hoops Productions.

“The strategy is achieving exactly what we wanted, our consideration has reached an all-time high with the Nat Rep audience,” added Carly Czuba Group Marketing & Digital Director at JD Outdoor.

“2026 is about growing this further whilst at the same time strengthening our already strong bond with GO customers.”

It will debut on television today, with spots scheduled for Britain’s Got Talent and Saturday Night Live at the weekend with media by Manchester’s Running Total.
