Global Radio is moving out of Salford Quays and has become the first tenant to sign up to the XYZ Building in Spinningfields, Manchester.

The broadcaster, which is home to Capital, Heart and Classic FM will take the two top floors of the building, which amounts to 16,699sq ft.

“The XYZ building is a great fit for Global’s culture offering a dynamic workplace.  We are delighted to be Allied London’s first signing and we look forward to moving into our new home in the heart of Spinningfields,” said Stephen Miron, Global’s group CEO.

The office space will include studios, so that Capital and Heart can be broadcast live from the building.

“XYZ is a concept that we have dedicated years of design and research to. We identified the future of workspace requirements three years ago and developed a capability to develop this type of building, through our platforms, Hello Work and Capital Properties,” explained Michael Ingall, chief executive of Allied London.

“This is our second major TMT solution this year with the recent announcement by Sky to adopt Leeds Docks for their Northern technology hub. We are delighted that our corporate vision set two years ago is being realised and wheels are in motion to launch our second XYZ Building at Leeds Dock.”

The building is due to open in the Autumn of 2016.
