Football legends Gary Neville, Roy Keane, Jamie Carragher and Ian Wright are taking their jovial banter overseas as The Overlap heads out on tour to some of Europe’s most beautiful cities.
The gang will take part in the usual blend of high octane activities and hilarious storytelling and personal anecdotes from their playing and management days. The series will also feature a live recording of their hit Manchester show, filmed at Aviva Studios.
The second series will see the team visit Turin to relive Keane’s Champions League semi-final against Juventus; Barcelona, the location of Neville’s worst game as Valencia manager but also his Champions League final victory for Manchester United, and Istanbul for Carragher’s Champion’s League victory for Liverpool – considered by many sports fans as one of the most dramatic matches in footballing history.
The new series also sees Ian Wright join the line-up. He’ll take audiences on a trip to the Eternal City of Rome, to recount his most glorious night playing for England.
Dwayne Eaton, commissioning executive, entertainment, Sky UK said: “We are delighted that these three legends – Gary, Roy and Jamie – will be back together on Sky Max with their mega hit The Overlap on Tour alongside Ian Wright.
“The tour follows the guys around Europe, where audiences can expect to see the lads’ good humour and banter on full display, as well as their genuine chemistry as they go on a trip down memory lane.”
The Overlap on Tour is produced by Buzz 16 (executive producers Scott Melvin, Tom Robinson and Luke Shiach) in association with Sky Studios. The series was commissioned for Sky by Eaton alongside Phil Edgar Jones, executive director of original unscripted, Sky.
