Former McCann Manchester senior digital PR manager heads across town for new role

Greater Manchester search and AI marketing agency Marketing Signals has strengthened its senior team with the appointment of Joseph Woodcock as senior digital PR manager.

Woodcock joins the agency following an eight-year career within global media powerhouses, including Wavemaker, where he previously worked alongside Marketing Signals’ head of digital PR Jade Denby, and McCann. He was most recently at McCann Manchester, where he served as senior digital PR and content manager prior to the latest move.

Having managed a diverse portfolio of high-profile clients, including TransPennine Express, MINI, Europcar, and Dr. Oetkar, he brings an approach blending traditional media relations with technical SEO expertise to the new role.

The move comes amid sustained momentum for Marketing Signals, as the agency continues to expand its integrated digital offering and secure several significant account wins.

Woodcock said: “I’m thrilled to join the digital PR team at Marketing Signals as a senior digital PR manager. After spending the past eight years in large media agencies working across a diverse range of clients, I’m excited to bring my experience in SEO, content, and data‑driven storytelling into a new environment.

“Marketing Signals has a strong reputation for delivering impactful digital PR, and I can’t wait to contribute to the brilliant work already happening here to help drive it even further.”

Marketing Signals specialises in driving commercial growth through integrated search strategies. By combining technical SEO, paid media, and creative digital PR, the agency helps B2B and B2C brands increase their online visibility and capture market share.

Gareth Hoyle, managing director, added: “Joe is joining Marketing Signals at a really exciting time. As we continue to win increasingly complex B2C e-commerce accounts, his deep understanding of high-level strategy and data-driven storytelling will be a major asset. His skill set will complement what is already a super-talented bunch of people, and I have no doubt his influence will help us push the boundaries of what we can achieve for our clients.”
