Richard Prest is set to join Iconic Media Group as its new Group Editorial Director for Scotland.
From October he’ll oversee its daily and weekly publications including The Scotsman, Edinburgh Evening News and Glasgow World.
“Richard is a hugely talented leader, and his appointment reflects the calibre and quality we want driving our journalism in Scotland,” said CEO Malcolm Denmark.

During his 20 year tenure at DC Thomson, Prest was Editor of Evening Telegraph in Dundee and Editor of The Sunday Post. More recently he’s been Head of Content Development, leading on digital transformation and innovation across the publisher’s newsrooms.
Last month, when he announced he was leaving the company, he stated:
“I’m incredibly grateful to everyone I’ve worked with in Aberdeen, Dundee, and Glasgow during my time with the company.
“I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together during those years and hugely thankful for the support, friendships, and opportunities I’ve enjoyed along the way.”
He’ll take up the new role on 5th October.
