Channel 4’s school drama, Ackley Bridge, will resume filming in Yorkshire next month.

Production company, The Forge says it will be implementing a number of measures to ensure the safety of cast and crew. This will include Covid-19 testing and placing teams within “bubbles.”

The new series will air as 10 x 30minute episodes, which will be stripped across 2 weeks in 2021.

Inspired by real-life Lancashire and Yorkshire schools, which were established to integrate the white and Asian communities, the last 3 series have won critical acclaim.

Joining an established cast are Robyn Cara (Life, Hounslow Diaries), Yasmin Al Khudhairi (Hilda) and Ryan Dean (The Gentleman, Penny on M.A.R.S.) .

The Executive Producers are George Ormond (National Treasure, Kiri), George Faber (National Treasure, Shameless), Ayub Khan Din (East is East) and Caroline Cooper Charles for Screen Yorkshire.

Rosalie Carew is producing, and Joe Stephenson and Ethosheia Hylton will direct.
